JCB recently won another $50 million order from the U.S. military for a high-speed mining loader, HMEE. Meanwhile, the Danish military ordered six HMEE and the Spanish military ordered two.
The HMEE is a military excavator loader weighing 17.5 tons, equipped with a 6.7-liter engine, four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, and can reach a top speed of 60 MPH, about 96.5 km/h. It can lift a load of 2 tons at one time and can reach a depth of 3.96 meters.
The U.S. military first ordered the JCB military excavator loader back in 2005, when a one-time purchase of 636 military equipment worth up to $206 million was made. Since then, JCB equipment has been commonly installed in the UK, Sweden, Germany, the united Arab emirates, Australia, New Zealand and other armies.
Due to the high mobility of HMEE, it can be driven alone with the army without trailer. Soldiers can be used to clear roads, remove obstacles, block each other's roads and other tasks. HMEE can ensure relative safety due to the set up explosion protection system.
JCB's recently developed HMEE model, which can be delivered remotely using a Boeing c-17 military transport aircraft, greatly improves mobility.
